P&O Edge: 20 Activities Set to Thrill Adrenaline Junkies

According to reports leaked during the Carnival Australia partnership summit held earlier this month, P&O intend to offer a range of action-packed, high adrenaline activity options for the more adventurous travellers onboard their ships.

The company have nicknamed this project “P&O Edge.”  Reports suggest the company will offer 20 new ‘adrenaline activities’, including a “Titanic Moment” on the bow of the ship and ‘funnel climbing.’

Details about “P&O Edge” are currently top secret, but it’s thought the official programme schedule and details of the 20 adrenaline activities will be unveiled in October this year.

So, what do we already know about P&O Edge?

Industry sources report that an “adventure park” will be installed on deck 15 of select P&O ships. The park will be equipped with a flying fox, a Segway obstacle course and eight types of climbs up the ship’s funnel.

The funnel climbs, apparently, are set to “put other rock-climbing walls to shame.”

Another unique feature of the “Edge” programme, according to the leaked report, is that passengers will have opportunity to re-enact the famous and iconic scene from the movie ‘Titanic’, where Leo and Kate stand on the ship’s bow. It’s likely that a photographer will be on hand to capture the moment, and travellers will be able to purchase the snaps as a souvenir.

The third exciting component of the new “Edge” programme reportedly involves the circus rig used on Pacific Jewel and Pacific Pearl. It’s expected that passengers will get to try tightrope walking, and can even perform a “leap of faith”.

Beyond P&O’s thrilling new ‘Edge’ programme of events, the company are also pairing up with Lego to create fun new toy-related activities for younger children. This is expected to be the first-ever “LEGO Experience at Sea”.
